- Visual Ergonomics relating to activities/tasks: visually demanding work tasks, visual challenging leisure activities, etc
- Visual Ergonomics relating to the human visual system, perception, illumination, optometry, ophthalmology, visual corrections etc. both for normally sighted persons and patients with subnormal vision

Objectives
- To facilitate cross-disciplinary communication among professionals all over the world with an interest in Visual Ergonomics
- To promote basic and applied ergonomic research as well as best ergonomics practices within the domain of Visual Ergonomics
- To strive towards safe and effective work conditions and leisurely activities for people all over the world within the domain of Visual Ergonomics
- To promote global collaboration among members and organizations within the field of Visual Ergonomics
- Promoting education in visual ergonomics at high academic and practical level
