October 2022:
VII ULAERGO ERGONOMICS CONGRESS AND
XXVIII INTERNATIONAL ERGONOMIC CONGRESS SEMAC
71 papers, 40 Speakers from 17 countries; More than 500 attendees.
YEAR 2013: we started the SEMAC University Chapters (CAPUNIS) which are groups of young students interested in the Ergonomics of different university careers that have the guidance of a specialist teacher in Ergonomics. At present SEMAC has registered 23 CAPUNIS grouping more than 800 students in 23 Universities and Technological Institutes. Since 2017 we have the “Latin American Ergonomics Talks” that we transmitted by videoconference to all CAPUNIS with the most outstanding Latin American presenters in the different areas of Ergonomics.
WORK IN CENTRAL AMERICA:
SEMAC supported the ACOMET (Costa Rican Association of Physicians Specialists in Occupational Medicine) in October 2012 in San Jose, Costa Rica. The INVITATION TO FORMATION OF THE SOCIETY OF ERGONOMISTS OF COSTA RICA was presented and accepted by more than 85 of the attendees who followed up, supported by SEMAC of this successful emergence of a new ergonomics society. In August 2013, the bylaws are signed. FIRST CENTRAL AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ERGONOMICS.
FEBRUARY 2014: SEMAC committed to the SOHMET (SOCIEDAD HONDUREÑA DE MEDICINA DEL TRABAJO) to give continuity to the training of its members and initiate the registration of the HONDURAN ERGONOMICS SOCIETY.
OCTOBER 2014: SEMAC was present at the TAKE OF PROTEST TO THE NEW SOCIETY OF ERGONOMICS OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC where its board formally protested to comply with its statutes and to follow the Ergonomics Academy in favor of the workers of its country through its members. Dominican Republic is the 3rd. Central American country to have its Ergonomics Society, as Costa Rica and Honduras did in the past and in August 2015 was supported by the delivery of the Course-Workshop Applied Industrial Ergonomics and Biomechanics before an attendance of 60 Occupational Health and Safety professionals from various companies, as well as evaluators of occupational risks.
JANUARY 2017: SEMAC with the AUTONOMOUS UNIVERSITY OF NICARAGUA support in the FORMATION OF THE NICARAGUAN SOCIETY OF ERGONOMICS through a Course of Applied Industrial Ergonomics and Biomechanics to the approximately 50 assistants of diverse specialties of the Occupational Health.
SEMAC supported the Dominican Ergonomics Society in March 2018 with conferences during its IV INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH
SEMAC proposed Dr. Carlos Espejo for the presidency of ULAERGO in November 2019 and he worked with his directive members (Mauricio Santos and Ivan Lopez) from November 2019 to October 2022 and increase the number of new members Societies in Latin America and today we are 16 country members in ULAERGO. Our page www.ulaergo.com increase in library, bulletins and books with free access from various authors in Ergonomics and our page www.semac.org.mxincrease also with his 14th indexed book of papers presented.
SEMAC change Directive members at the end of our XXVIII congress and they start to work immediately October 9th, 2022.
