Just before the 22nd Triennial Congress of the IEA the annual general meeting of the IEA Council was held. The Council consists of representatives of the 55 federated members and the IEA elected officers. The Chairs of the standing committees gave reports on the activities of the hundreds of volunteers that make up the technical and other sub-committees of the IEA. The Council elects the new officers and we would like to congratulate Prof. Andrew Thatcher and Prof. Nancy Thatcher who are newly elected to the presidency and vice-presidency/secretary general positions. They will join Dr Thomas Alexander who was re-elected as Vice-President / Treasurer.
