This webinar covers the basics of how to plan and execute an anthropometric survey, and ways to present the results.  Both traditional methods (tape and caliper) and scan data collection are included, with an emphasis on data quality and database utility.

Presenters:

Dr. Masaaki Mochimaru – Deputy Director at the Digital Human Research Laboratory (AIST) and AIST Fellow (2023). He has held key leadership roles in ISO standardization, including Chair of ISO TC159/SC3 (2008–2016), ISO PC329 (2020–2024), and currently ISO TC324.

Dr. Makiko Kouchi (D.Sci) – Senior Researcher at AIST. Her work focuses on human body variation (growth, secular change, movement) and 3D body shape modeling. She is also a recognized expert in anthropometry (1D & 3D), including measurement error quantification and 3D scanner validation protocols.
