HFES 65th International Annual Meeting

This year’s Annual Meeting is scheduled October 4 – 7, 2021, at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel, Baltimore, Maryland, USA,  and October 25 – 28, 2021 online!

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor is home to the National Aquarium along with world class museums, shopping, and dining, while being conveniently located close to Washington, DC. Although we are planning for an in-person event to help you reconnect with the human factors and ergonomics community, we will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation to consider the safety of attendees and members. Additionally a virtual component will also take place after the October meeting which will allow for everyone to participate and share their science with the HFES community.

This year, we plan to expand on the successful networking activities introduced for the first virtual Annual Meeting last year. We are very excited to highlight the innovative work in our newest Technical Groups—Cybersecurity and Human-AI-Robot Teaming. We also plan to grow the embedded Practitioner Track, with a strong emphasis on sharing hands-on and applied project findings. Additionally, to reflect the challenges of conducting research with human participants over the past year, we especially encourage in-progress submissions. The pandemic provided new opportunities—new ways of conducting research remotely but also new chances to think about research that may not yet be completed. We want to hear about these ideas as we move forward. As in the past, all submissions will receive a multi-person peer review, and the proceedings will be archived and indexed for wide dissemination.
