The goal of this on-line webinar series is to bring you perspectives on the envisaged challenges arising from the Future of Work for HFE from around the World. In this webinar we will be hearing about the future of work from Brazil and the challenges that this raises for HFE.

Presenter: Prof. Paulo Antonio Barros Oliveira
Paulo Antonio Barros Oliveira is a Full Professor of Social Medicine at UFRGS, a retired labor inspector, retired, and a medical doctor (UFRGS-1976). He is a specialist in Occupational Medicine (UFCSPA – 1979), with a doctorate in Production Engineering (COOPE/UFRJ-2000). Paulo was President of the Brazilian Association of Ergonomics (ABERGO), Coordinator of the Brazilian Certification System (SISCeb), and was the IEA – Co-Chair for Latin America, of the International Development Committee of the International Ergonomics Associations – from 2015 to 2021. He is a fellow of the IEA.
Presenter: Prof. Daniel Braatz
Daniel Braatz is Executive Director of the Innovation Agency and Associate Professor at the Department of Production Engineering at UFSCar (Brazil). He holds a PhD. and a Master’s degree in Production Engineering. He graduated in Materials Production Engineering. He has experience in teaching, research, and extension in the following areas: ergonomics and work design, engineering design, factory and layout design, digital human simulation, and gamification. He coordinates the NPro research group (DEP-UFSCar), the CDPRO makerspace, and is one of the creators of the Work Engineering Initiative (IET) and the Young Researchers in Ergonomics (JoPE). Daniel coordinates the Assistiverse research and innovation project (FINEP) and collaborates with the ITAPAR thematic project (Fapesp/ANR France). He coordinates the Master’s and Doctorate Program for Innovation at UFSCar (MAI/DAI) funded by CNPq.
